​Our Founder & CEO
Dr. Bernadine Waller is a New York State licensed mental health counselor who has provided trauma-informed clinical and career services for more than a decade. Her cutting-edge, client-centered approaches centralize the nuanced needs of Black women survivors of intimate partner violence.

An award-winning scholar-clinician, Dr. Waller's National Institutes of Health-funded research elevates the voices of a subpopulation of survivors who have historically been overlooked. She focuses on developing and implementing evidence-based interventions specifically crafted for Black women.

Dr. Waller is a sought-after speaker who regularly facilitates workshops and trainings for international and national audiences.
She knows, first-hand, the deleterious effects of intimate partner violence, as well as the courage and strength it takes to rebuild Black women survivors' sense of self.
